Clingmans Dome in Great Smoky Mountain

  • A 360* view from highest peak in the park, paved trail to observation


  • 1/2 miles both ways


  • to get to the Clingmans Dome


  • Long and hard walking as go on high


  • Be sure have water bottle with you!


  • We didn't have water bottle with us!

  • He said not needed.


  • Well it was needed for sure!


  • More walking, break sat down in between as go up


  • (See naked trees) Fraser firs killed by balsam wooly adelgids


  • Beautiful views!


  • The moment we finally arrived at the Clingmans Dome


  • Just little more walking to top


  • Sudden the fog hit on us there


  • We stayed and waited if the fog would lift away


  • Some fog did lifted


  • May why see some pictures are "off" because of fog


  • We left go back at bottom.

  • Found beautiful blue butterfly (Pipevine Swallowtail)


  • So thirsty for water!!


  • we had lunch with apple and banana
