{Pages}

From past some weeks I have been worked on some pages. Finally uploaded with some completed pages. All kits I had from Two Spotted Dogs. I was able to use my old stash too. There was some challenges I used from Two Spotted Dogs had earlier May. (I couldn't remember which ones I used)

Sheba. April 2008 Mid-Month April Shower mini kit with bit of buttons and shaped cats.
I liked Leah's idea with using the buttons on flower background paper. Journaling: Sheba has her strange moments. She likes to look around being goofy. I finally captured this one. You are one kool cat! I think it was Leah or someone had idea used with the buttons. And I liked the idea to use on this page.

Rocky. March 2008 Office Party kit and with few cat stash I had. Journaling: Rocky, You are too comfortable to move over to follow the warmth of the sun in the morning.

Mo's mother's Birthday. Kitchen garden kit, chipboard flower with nice touch and brown flock. Quickutz letter "Aged to"

Mo's Birthday. Paper from March 2008 Office party kit with old blue demi ribbon and way old birthday metal birthday pieces. Plus chipboard lettering with nice touch.

My dad with yard work. April 2008 Mid-Month April Shower mini kit, red brads on tree and flower with few dragonflies brads with big metal dragonflies

My niece. March 2008 Office party kit. Journaling: Emily had blast "planting a spring dessert with Aunt Jennifer. A pot full of ice cream, a flower and crushed Oreo soil made a yummu snack. Emily really Enjoyed sneaking bits of Oreo "soil" when Aunt Jennifer was not looking.

My favorite page.. April 2008 Mid-Month April Shower mini kit, painted on chipboard "bring on" and punched out Sizzix letter "spring" add on with brown flock.

March 2008 Mid-Month Easter Parade mini kit, Heidi Swapp ghost letter "easter" with quickutz letter "sunrise" Thank for looking

{Memorial Day weekend}

We attended the Memorial Day event at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery today. We have visited there in the past, but this was the first time we experienced the ceremony. All of the branches of the Armed Forces were represented. Mo asked a woman if the would have an interpreter for the event. She explained that they did have one last year, but didn't have the funding for one this year. It was very powerful to experience the march and speakers. Even though I can not hear the words, I could see the emotion on the faces of the people, some even shed tears. Mo took a lot of pictures today. It was a wonderful tribute to all of the men and women who dedicate their lives to protection our country and our freedom.

My nephew graduated from the Coast Guard Academy this past Friday. My sister and Randy were there. Click on this link Coast Guard Nate to read all about the event on blog. I wanted so badly to be there when he graduated, but no matter what, I am very proud of him and his accomplishments.

Hope all of you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend and got to relax some like we did. We spent some of our time playing of games with Mexican train dominoes. We just kept playing more games over the long weekend. Any time we passed the table during the weekend we'd play a little more.

{Potting Soil Dessert}

(Our niece)

Emily had blast "planting" a spring dessert with me. A pot full of ice cream, a flower and crushed Oreo soil made a yummy snack. Emily really enjoyed sneaking bits of the Oreo "soil" when I was not looking.

Some of you might like the idea.
It's a great fun to do with your kids.
~inside bottom of cup or clean flower pot, put in a piece of pound cake.
~put in a straw in center of cup. (pound cake will hold the straw in place)
~put your favorite ice cream in around the straw and fill up. (you'll have to push some in)
~throw in some crushed Oreo cookies "soil"
~put a few toothpicks in straw so not be "buried" with the "soil"
~final when ready serve.. put couple flowers in the straw
~all pretty until time to eat!
~another idea get a few gummy worms on the top of the "soil"

{National Scrapbook Day}

National Scrapbook Day was this past Saturday. National Scrapbooking Day was first created by National Scrapbook Association as a way to celebrate and promote the art and craft of Scrapbooking.

A bunch of us spent time scrapping over the weekend along with cyber crops with online websites. I did couple of challenges from Two Spotted Dogs.

Mo was playing with our camera. He was checking out the color accent feature. He had fun and kept trying one picture after another. It was cool to look at the pictures. I had a couple of pages that I didn't complete in time to submit to the challenges, but it was fun to participate.

Happy National Scrapbook day!!
