(in last picture Emily goofed when Mo took the picture)
Mo and I spent long day at our niece, Emily's house yesterday. You can see we had so much fun doing crafts all day. We were supposed to go to the pumpkin patch but we didn't go after all. We had blustery winds and it got colder later in the afternoon. But we managed to have fun with Emily! I helped her make pumpkins and gourd shapes for Halloween from the air mold clay. Emily had a blast. I showed her how to wrap yarn to make a cob web for a spider's home. We made our own spiders instead of buying a bunch of plastic spiders. She had so much fun painting faces on the pumpkins. I asked if I could have the small pumpkin to paint with her. She said I could have the big one to paint and she will have small one.
It was a fun crafty day. Everything went great!! Emily was worn out by the end of day! We were going back and forth with crafts to allow some crafts to dry in between.
P.S. We managed to take some pictures of Emily with her pumpkins and gourds in her yard. Will post some pictures soon.
Warning.. Lot of pictures from our amazing last weekend with my 3rd cousin Jana. She spent long weekend with us before she left back to her country Slovakia
Friday On the mini roadtrip
We went out on the mini road roadtrip to see the historical bridge after my friend Sandra and her husband was just there with her parents in law the other day. Click-->Dave's blog~ 19th Century Giant Wheel Re-incurnated . To read some history. It was beautiful there and just barely missed the fall's color in background. We stopped at HotRod for lunch. Then we stopped in Crown Point to check out the covered bridge. My dad said not even realized where we found this covered bridge just this past Spring that close by.
Meyer's castle at the evening
We all had delicious dinner at Meyer Castle. There were no mistakes with the choices we ordered for dinner. We made it to have dessert with homemade whipped cool with homemade ice cream to share. This place was once someone's castle home then changed to the public restaurant. (can have wedding and parties there)
Saturday @ The Millennium Park
In the pictures at the Millennium Park. You can see we all had so much fun on that day! Jana was so amazing with things we can find at that place. At The Crown Fountain, of course the water has been turned off for winter. So little water on ground perfect for fun shot I did for her. It was also so beautiful with background! We made it across to walk by water. Weather was so nice and so clear and blue sky in Chicago.
Saturday @ Navy Pier
After Millennium Park we all went to Navy Pier for lunch. Yes, Jana did need some help when we order our lunch. She only need some words to look up to see what foods are in meals what she likes to order for lunch. While we were waiting for meals I took Jana to get in the Photo booth and it was fun! Jana was confused and awkward because it was very first experience for her. But during and at end Jana had fun inside the photo booth. Of course we got our own photo stripes to keep.. (yes we went for photo shooting twice and they come out with 2 stripes, perfect to share) Last thing I knew I had to take Jana on the Ferris Wheel. And it was another amazing thing to Jana to see it herself.
Being silly
A little fun where we want to be silly. Jana is in the pictures show she was in ILLINOIS and INDIANA states. As well she has been in Wisconsin. Just a silly pic of us "being kids" at my work.
Sunday Final goodbye lunch
Before Uncle Tim took Jana to airport for overnight flight back to her country. We all went out for late lunch at this place. Place where my dad often go for lunch or dinner with his friends. Jana enjoyed her lunch and taking more than enough of pictures. One thing we have learned that She dislike ketchup!Of course it was sad moment when we all had to say final goodbye as she left with Uncle Tim. We were more than glad we spent long weekend with Jana at our place. Jana enjoyed herself lot here too. Just everything has been amazing to Jana.Thank you for your time to read and look up pictures from our long amazing weekend.
Thank you for looking up this long post. Hope you enjoy reading about Jana's visiting here.
I baked the pumpkin cookies this week. They are so good with the whipped topping. It's perfect dessert for Thanksgiving.
I know that I am over due to post the pictures from amazing last weekend with cousin Jana. I promise to get in it real soon. Have tons of pictures to sort out.
Jana is here to stay for a few days with us. I decided that I couldn't wait and gave her this special gift. Jana was totally surprised and said "amazing American family" when she read on the layout in the frame. She said it was lovely gift and thanked us so much for this special gift. She left the frame on the dresser in room instead of pack it yet.
Of course we have some more pictures to post.. Will do that other time.. My mind need to settle in first.
Mo took this picture the other day before all of rain we had yesterday and dad already mowed this morning with lot of leaves. (was going to take another picture, too late) Our trees in front yard, the leaves are pretty much gone. Now we will have to face with our neighbor's tree to loose their leaves to clean out in our yard.
My Fall long weekend has began! First go for work today then off for the weekend. We have few ideas what we might can do. Even the best that my cousin Jana will be here to enjoy last few days to be in USA before she return back to her country. Can't wait to do all fun with Jana here. I may post the pictures sometime weekend or after the weekend is over.
